Roswell, New Mexico
We started our vacation today by going from home to Roswell, New Mexico. I love driving in the States and prefer the slower but more interesting highways over the faster but more congested freeways. After hours of empty range land we arrived in the UFO capitol of the world and decided that it would be fitting to go see the new Spielberg movie, War of the Worlds. I had read Ebert’s review yesterday and thought that it cannot be that bad, but after watching I have to agree that the alien invasion did not make much sense. Why did they invade? What’s the point of destroying all humans if they want to suck out our blood later. They mastered interstellar travel and lightning transportation, but they do not know bacteria?
Anyway, tomorrow we are going to the UFO museum here in Roswell and maybe the Crash Down diner, then on to Texas.
How I am blogging from the middle of nowhere? I am schlepping Brenda’s computer with me after I finally (I think she sent it to us over a year ago…) patched it up and installed an affordable OS (Debian Linux). Unfortunately I still have to figure out how to connect my camera with it, so, no picture today, although I found this web page if you want some impressions of our first stay.
