Guido's Green Garden, Episode 2

Today I nailed together cedar boards to make a garden gate. I planned to only till the beds, but I think it is easier to just till the whole garden and then pad down the paths. Flat stones from the rock wall of the Mesa behind our house should make great stepping stones for my garden paths.

Typical ;)

A Swiss man needed directions, so he pulled up to a bus stop where two Americans were waiting. “Entschuldigung, können sie Deutsch sprechen?” he asked. The two Americans just stared at him. “Excusez-moi, parlez vous Francais?” he tried. The two continued to stare. “Parlare Italiano?” No response. “Hablan ustedes Espanol?” Nothing. The man drove off in disgust. One American turned to the other and said, “You know, maybe we should learn a foreign language.” “Why?” said the other, “That guy knew four and it didn’t help him at all!”

Ouch

Well okay, I am not going to be that mean, and use only links to the pictures. I do not want anybody to get sick. ;)

Here is the finger without the bandage, cleaned up and the other side with the stitches. The crack in the middle of the nail shows how deep the axe cut.

The sewing surgeon said, it should heal well, since a third of the finger tip is still attached and the bone was not struck. “You can pull the stitches on you own and save yourself an appointment.” Well, now you know: the Wild West is still dangerous.

Accident

Blut an der Axt…

Schlimmer Finger…

Bad finger…

Blood on the axe…

Bandage has to stay on until tomorrow… See you then.

Even more puppies

Okay, now it really gets complicated with naming the doggies… It’s eight puppies, if I counted correctly.

Haha, April fools (It’s still April, right?) A stray dog recently whelped these puppies. We noticed her before, because she’s running around with six bulging teats. I found the dog nest by accident in a culvert across from hour home.

Weird, while I was writing this entry, a neighbor came over and asked if I had a gun. He said one of the puppies fell down a crevice over by the Mesa and can’t get out…
