Kirin is becoming quite the artist. Here is what she says about this drawing: “This is a mommy Palomino and her babies were kicking the rock and she is kicking them over to their room.”
Her writing improved a lot, too. We had signed her up for early Kindergarten when she was about to turn 5 in Mesa. It was a half-day class and she is now attending “normal” Kindergarten full-time. She had a lot of catching up to do, but it looks like she might go to First Grade next!

I got my second digital camera today (Canon Powershot S30 for $153 on ebay) and had to test this new toy of course.
Kai has been enjoying his “school” (Headstart program) immensely. I am having difficulties to pick him up from school at times, because he protests that he is “not done yet!” This is in contrast to screaming fits in the past, when we (tried to) drop him off at the Babysitter’s or Sunday School. His teacher told me, that he is very talkative and that she has to stop him sometimes, so they can go on with the lesson. Since all other students in Kai’s class are Navajo, he is learning some Navajo words and phrases along with his colors and shapes.
